Bristol's Two October Food Promotions Share a Week and a Few Front Doors

Two food promotions started in Bristol today. Downtown Bristol Restaurant Week runs Monday, October 5 through Sunday, October 11, 2026. Explore Bristol's Pumpkin Spice Latte Trail started the same morning and runs two days longer, through Tuesday, October 13. Different groups put them together, Believe in Bristol for one and Explore Bristol for the other. But a few businesses on State Street, 6th Street and at The Bristol Hotel signed up for both, and those spots let you try both programs in a single visit.

The places that signed up for both

Restaurant Week doesn't follow a set formula. Believe in Bristol says each participating business serves "a Restaurant Week feature, special, deal or experience," and asks diners to visit more than one place. The posted rules don't mention a passport, voting or prizes, so no card needs stamping. The Trail works much the same way. It's a citywide list of seasonal drinks, baked goods and other treats, with no scoring.

Both programs are just lists of offers, so the businesses that appear on both are the easiest stops of the week. These businesses appear on both lists:

Venue Side of State Street Restaurant Week offer Pumpkin Spice Latte Trail offer
bistro on 6th, 16 6th St. Tennessee One free appetizer with two entrees, one per table Pumpkin cream mousse with a gingersnap cookie
Pins & Friends, 700 State St. Tennessee Ten-Pin Platter and The Duck Pond signature drink Pumpkin Spice Latte Espresso Martini
Vivian's Table, The Bristol Hotel Virginia Drink specials Basic Witch Martini and Sweater Weather
LUMAC Rooftop Bar, The Bristol Hotel Virginia Drink specials Basic Witch Martini and Sweater Weather
Blackbird Bakery, Piedmont Ave. Virginia Assorted pumpkin desserts Listed in the Trail directory

The Trail calls the two hotel drinks a pumpkin spice martini and a pumpkin old fashioned. Vivian's Table and LUMAC are in the same building, so one trip to The Bristol Hotel covers both venues. bistro on 6th fits best for two people. The Restaurant Week deal gives a free appetizer when two entrees are ordered, which leaves the pumpkin cream mousse as dessert for the same table. At Pins & Friends, one bowling night covers both lists with a Ten-Pin Platter and a Pumpkin Spice Latte Espresso Martini.

One caution on the Trail directory. Each business has its own profile page, and the pages were posted at different times. Blackbird Bakery's Trail profile went up in 2024, so its Restaurant Week listing for pumpkin desserts is a better guide to what's in the case this week. The Trail offers listed for the other four venues come from profiles posted in late September or early October 2026.

One more caution, this time about the Restaurant Week list. The header on Believe in Bristol's participant page reads "October 5-11, 2027." Explore Bristol's calendar and Believe in Bristol's own 2026 interest form both list this year's dates as October 5 through 11, and October 5 is a Monday in 2026. The offers in this post come from the list as it's posted now. If a particular special matters to you, check with the restaurant before you go.

The rest of the Restaurant Week list

Once you've been to the overlap stops, the rest of Believe in Bristol's posted list is spread evenly across both sides of the state line. That makes it easy to plan a downtown evening around a short walk.

On the Virginia side:

  • Axe & Ale House, 155 Moore St., is featuring the Hillbilly Dip Sandwich. It's Mississippi pot roast slow-cooked with pepperoncini, topped with provolone and the house garlic aioli on a half hoagie, with au jus on the side.
  • The Corner, 501 State St., is featuring Appalachian Eggrolls, the Bristol Firehouse Burger and the 501 Melt.

On the Tennessee side:

  • SoFlo Retreat, 27 6th St., is serving a Crab Rangoon Bowl.
  • The Subculture Deli, 29 6th St., lists its special as "TBC." The description is turkey, bacon, Colby Jack, ranch, lettuce, tomato and onion.
  • Machiavelli's, 8 5th St., has a rotating daily special, so the offer will change from one visit to the next.

bistro on 6th, SoFlo Retreat and The Subculture Deli are all on the same block of 6th Street, at numbers 16, 27 and 29. One short walk covers a Restaurant Week dinner, a Trail dessert and a second stop.

Trail stops outside the Restaurant Week list

The Trail covers more ground than Restaurant Week, and some of its newest profiles are for places Restaurant Week doesn't include. Dragonfly Book Bar, at 625 State St. on the Virginia side, is offering fall flavors through its shrubs and ciders. Squabble State, at 7300 Brownlow Drive in Bristol, Virginia, is pouring a Pumpkin Spice Cider. Trailblazer Coffee, at 2016 West State St. in Bristol, Tennessee, posted the longest fall menu on the Trail: the Storyteller Latte, Smores Latte, White Top Latte, Apple Strudel Macchiato, Spiced Cider, Pumpkin Chai and Stick Season Lotus.

All three of those profiles were posted in the past week. You can rely on them more than an older profile that still shows a 2024 menu.

Saturday, October 10 is the busy day

The middle Saturday is the only day of the week when both food programs overlap with several other events. At Steele Creek Park, Wildlife Weekend runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and its activities are free with the park's regular $2 admission. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., the first Heritage Fall Fest takes place at 2223 Volunteer Parkway in Bristol, Tennessee, and it's listed as free. That night, the Paramount's schedule lists Kenny Wayne Shepherd's Ledbetter Heights 30th Anniversary Tour.

The times don't collide. The park and the festival both end by mid-afternoon, so the evening is free for downtown. Dinner on 6th Street or at The Bristol Hotel before the Paramount show lands on the second-to-last night of Restaurant Week, and both food lists are still running.

The two extra Trail days and what's new at The Pinnacle

Restaurant Week ends Sunday. The Trail keeps going Monday, October 12 and Tuesday, October 13. Monday is also the scheduled opening date for Dave & Buster's at 567 Pinnacle Parkway, according to a company release dated September 21.

Dave & Buster's isn't the only change at The Pinnacle. Books-A-Million held its grand opening there on Saturday, September 26, and the store is at 574 Pinnacle Parkway. WJHL's September 28 report quoted Bretta Morenings, an economic development specialist for the City of Bristol, Tennessee, who said Mountain Motorsports and Longhorn Steakhouse are both under construction nearby. The report gave no opening date for either one.

Several Pinnacle locations are also on the Trail directory, including Duck Donuts and Crave Cookies. Their Trail profiles are older and don't name a specific pumpkin item for this year, so confirm what they're serving before you go.

After the food weeks end

The weekend after both programs close is mostly about music and history. On Friday, October 16, Bristol Sessions Festival Night Six, "The Pickers," starts at 7:30 p.m. in the L.C. King Building at 24 7th St. On Saturday, October 17, "We the People Celebrating 250 Years in Bristol VA!" runs 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Cumberland Square Park, 200 Lee St., and it's listed as free. Lucinda Williams is on the Paramount's schedule that night.

The next downtown food event after that is First Fridays: Fall Food & Flannel on Friday, November 6, from 5 to 8 p.m. on State Street. Watch out for an older Believe in Bristol page for that event that still shows the 2025 date of November 7. The current page shows November 6, 2026.

Over a pumpkin martini at The Bristol Hotel, if you get to wondering what your own place on either side of State Street is worth this fall, Denise Blevins can help. She has followed this downtown through more Restaurant Weeks than most, and her instant home valuation gives you a starting number before you call.
